Mike Tyson's Legacy

Mike Tyson's Legacy

Let me start this off by saying that I am not a boxing fan.  I don't watch boxing, nor do I keep up with the latest boxing stats, and I cannot name the last 3 boxing champions, but everyone knows Mike Tyson.  I grew up with an older brother that enjoyed watching boxing and I was forced to hear about it.  And then my dad bought us boxing gloves and he would either get to be Evander Holyfield, but I always had to be George Forman.

We would box to learn how to defend ourselves and my brother would always emulate these boxers' famous moves including Mike Tyson's uppercut.  A move he was allegedly contracted to not perform in this latest boxing match (performance, publicity stunt, money grab) with a youtuber that shall not be named here.

It's been alleged that Mike Tyson was contracted to not knock out his opponent and to not perform key moves in the fight.  I must say it was disappointing to hear about his loss.  A part of my childhood memories meant a little less--I don't know why or how to explain it.

Honestly the match was not the highlight of this fight in my opinion.  Before the match took place, Tyson did an interview with a young reporter who asked about his legacy and his response to her had many on the internet shocked.  They commented saying did he forget that he was talking to a young person.  His demeanor and response came across as detached and negative.  Check out the interview and my response in the video above.

Unlocking Your Inner Magic: Lessons from Dr. CC's Transformative Workshop Embracing M.A.G.I.C. at the "Leaning Into Your M.A.G.I.C." Workshop  Happy Thursday, Queen Connect Readers! On June 19th, I had the transformative experience of attending Dr. Christi Culpepper-Walker’s "Leaning Into Your M.A.G.I.C" virtual workshop. This event was a powerful reminder of the importance of self-empowerment, self-love, and showing up for oneself.  It was designed to help women discover and lean into their M.A.G.I.C.—an acronym for Mannerisms, Attitude, Genuineness, Identity, and Core Values.  These elements, she explained, are key to walking out our purpose with boldness and authenticity.  Discovering My Own Magic  The workshop was not just a series of lectures; it was an interactive journey of self-discovery. Dr. CC, as she is affectionately known, emphasized the critical message of showing up for oneself—a message that resonated deeply with many women, including myself....
