Believe

People that are in recovery for alcohol and drugs are often encouraged to try rehab.  Depending on the severity of the situation, they are not encouraged sometimes they are required to go into rehab.  That is because they understand the importance of a new environment when it comes to the healing/recovery journey.

"

Well, I know that I'll get through this

'Cause I know that I am strong

A rehabilitation center puts you in a different environment that maximizes your potential for recovery.  The new environment is key though.  It's so important to change it up in your life sometimes.  I have a friend that loves to change up her house furniture arrangements.  I swear I will go to her house one day and be blown away by her decor and then a week later I will return to be blown away again.  She loves to switch it up.

During a rough time in my life, she began to encourage me to switch somethings up in my environment.  I didn't immediately take her up on that suggestion, but life eventually made me do it anyway. My home had some plumbing issues, and several pieces of furniture was ruined.  I was forced to reset my entire room and that motivated me to do that to the rest of my house.  I immediately felt better, slept better and was in a better state of mind to create.

Music is so powerful that it can create a new energy within you and around you.  I recognize this with Cher' song "Believe."  This song is a powerful anthem of reclaiming your power and of hope.  More than anything else you have to have hope if you want to change anything in your life.  Sometimes all you need is a few moments of feeling and experiencing that hope to transport you into a new way of thinking, feeling and being.

After love, after loveAfter love, after loveAfter love, after loveAfter love, after loveAfter love, after loveAfter love, after love
No matter how hard I tryYou keep pushing me asideAnd I can't break throughThere's no talking to you
It's so sad that you're leavingIt takes time to believe itBut after all is said and doneYou're gonna be the lonely one, oh
Do you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, noDo you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, no
What am I supposed to do?Sit around and wait for you?Well, I can't do thatAnd there's no turning back
I need time to move onI need a love to feel strong'Cause I've had time to think it throughAnd maybe I'm too good for you, oh
Do you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, noDo you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, no
Well, I know that I'll get through this'Cause I know that I am strongAnd I don't need you anymoreI don't need you anymoreOh, I don't need you anymoreNo, I don't need you anymore
Do you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, noDo you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, no
Do you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, noDo you believe in life after love?I can feel something inside me sayI really don't think you're strong enough, no

Black Men Address Kamala Harris + Roland Martin discussion with Black Men + A Black Woman's Response

Black Men Address Kamala Harris + Roland Martin discussion with Black Men + A Black Woman's Response Watch the video and check out my response below.  Share your thoughts in the comment section. In response to the discussions presented in both videos, Roland Martin’s pushback against the narrative that black women in political power neglect black men’s needs highlights the complex relationship between gender, politics, and accountability within the black community. Martin’s insistence on relying on data, particularly regarding education and resource distribution, emphasizes that many of these claims may not be rooted in fact but in perception. It points to a larger conversation about how black men and women experience and navigate systems differently, though they are often impacted by similar forces. The TikTok video responds more directly to the lack of accountability some black men display, calling out the cyclical nature of excuses. The woman in the video argues that black men ...

More information comes out about Tik Tok ban.

More information comes out about Tik Tok ban. The potential TikTok ban in the U.S. has stirred up a lot of emotions, especially for those who rely on the platform for entertainment, connection, or even income. Earlier this year, many were caught off guard by the possibility of losing access to the app, as Congress cited concerns about its impact on teenagers. Recent documents reveal that TikTok was aware of the platform’s addictive nature and its harmful effects, particularly on young users, which adds a new layer to the conversation. It’s alarming to see that not only was the platform aware of these issues, but the harm was reportedly intentional. From my experience as a TikTok user, I can agree that the platform can have negative effects, even when the content itself seems harmless or positive. Spending too much time on any app can be damaging, especially when it pulls you in without you realizing how much time you’ve spent. It’s a reminder that we all need to be mindful of how ...
