Unfiltered Released: Youth Advocate Speaks on what it will take to reach this generation.

Tonight’s show is with the editor of Duval Connect Magazine Tiffney Funches Tiffney Marie & Co.  She’s a certified life coach and transformational coach, youth pastor with Refresh Youth- a safe space for teens to fellowship and learn about God.

I’m excited about sharing the conversation we shared which was very open about our experiences within the community. They are not always good and sometimes there are internal conflicts and struggles.

Navigating through them can be hard because it can seem like one false move can lead to the loss of position, support, and future opportunities.

But then there is also an opportunity to bring forth change even though it may not appear to be that way at first.

I’ve known Tiffney Funches for over five years now. I’ve watched her pour into the youth of the Jacksonville community. No matter where she goes, her love for the youth follows.

In our chat we discussed the difficulties and challenges that come with advocating for the youth when faced with corporate, and organizational politics.

Sometimes it can be frustrating to have a heart for the community and not be able to make the impact that you truly want. In this video we discuss our shared experiences and what we’ve learned.

Why You Might Be Paying More Than Your Neighbor for the Same Product

Surveillance Pricing: The Hidden Cost of Your Personal Data Have you ever noticed that prices seem to fluctuate depending on how and where you shop? Maybe you’ve used Instacart or another grocery delivery app and found that the price of your favorite milk online is higher than what you’d pay in-store. At first, these small discrepancies might seem like an unavoidable part of online shopping. But what if I told you that businesses might be charging you more based on who you are? Surveillance pricing is a practice where companies use personal data—such as your age, gender, income level, or even your location—to adjust the prices you see. Essentially, what you pay for everyday items could depend on what retailers assume you can afford. A recent Federal Trade Commission (FTC) study revealed how this type of pricing discrimination is becoming more common, with companies using advanced algorithms to analyze consumer behavior and set prices accordingly. For example, someone shopping in a low...

The Ones Closest to You Can Hurt You The Worst.

The Ones Closest to You Can Hurt You the Worst. It’s cold down here in sunny Florida so I’m bundled up at the office, but I had to share something that came across my mind. I thought about a conversation I had with a friend years ago. I didn’t quite get to finish my thought, but I said all of this to say, “when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.” Thank you, Maya Angelou. Sometimes the ones closest to you and know you best are the ones they can hurt you the most because they have the information. They know you. If you’ve been in relationship (friend or family or romantic) for a long time they understand the things that can hurt, you through trial and error. It’s never an accident when they scare you with spiders when you’ve told them you’re afraid of them. They know what to do to move you emotionally and sometimes it’s only for their sick and twisted enjoyment. It’s not friendship and it never was. And when they show you that, even in a “joke” trust and...
